Scottsdale Society of Women Writers
By Linda
You don’t have to live in Scottsdale to become a member of the Scottsdale Society of Women Writers (SSWW). Founder Patricia Brooks told me that the society has members all over, including two out of state.
I presented to the group last night on the topic of “Press Releases 101,” and how the way we write and distribute releases has changed in the last three years. Credit Todd Defren at Shift Communications for crystallizing the changes in the 2006 proposed social media release template, which is constantly being updated to reflect ongoing developments in social media.
SSWW is one of the best and friendliest groups to whom I’ve presented recently. An association is always reflective of its leader, and Patricia is organized, personable, experienced, and determined. An author herself, she has penned “Gifts of Sisterhood,” an AZ Authors Association Literary Award winner.
I took a picture of the group, but my Blackberry decided its system was full, so sorry ladies – my great shot of you didn’t turn out! But if you’re an author or wannabe author, check out SSWW if you are looking for an intelligent, supportive group of like-minded women. Thanks Linda for the post and for speaking to us on th 18th – you did a terrific job and it was a great night. I especially like the handouts and have already looked at some of the resource websites you listed for us. Have a great Thanksgiving Holiday and thanks again. Patricia
